Chrysalis expands podcast service as demand grows

LONDON - Chrysalis Radio will launch a bespoke podcast production service to create tailored programmes for its clients.

Chrysalis Content will build on existing podcasts from clients including Honda and AOL and create content such as city travel guides and target fields like fashion and beauty.

The podcasts can be hosted and downloaded from either a Chrysalis website or a client's website.

Recent research conducted by Chrysalis Radio of 1,000 podcast subscribers found that most users were aged 35 to 44, with men making up 58% of users.

The research also revealed users preferred to download podcasts at home and a third listened to the content whilst commuting, with many claiming to listen to the material more than once.

The Chrysalis-owned LBC stations have delivered over 1.5m podcasts with content including full-length entertainment and comedy shows from LBC 97.3 FM in addition to information bulletins and archive special features.

David Lloyd, managing director of LBC, said: "This research suggests once again a renewed appetite for talk, and confirms that people appear to source that content from trusted brands like LBC to whom podcasters remain hugely loyal."

Paul Fairburn, managing director of digital platforms at Chrysalis, said: "The Chrysalis Content service draws upon our wealth of experience, in both programme and commercial fields, to deliver highly engaging, branded-content specifically tailored to a client’s requirements."
