Chelsea reveals broadband offer for football fans

LONDON - Chelsea Football Club is expanding its new media offering with a branded broadband service offering up to five personalised club email addresses.

The service, which will cost £28.99 a month and includes a free year's subscription to Chelsea TV online, is being provided by Viatel, which also offers high-speed access to Manchester United and is aiming to sign up most Premiership clubs.

Chelsea will promote the service online, in its matchday programme and around its Stamford Bridge stadium.

It plans to stream its forthcoming friendly with South Korean team Suwon Bluewings live on the internet.

Viatel has launched a website, www.fastfooty.com, where football fans wanting an email and broadband service for their clubs can sign up to show an interest. The company will pitch its service to any club that has more than 1,000 interested supporters.
