
His new role will see him work alongside SME managing director Tim Etchells to drive the next stage of the company’s growth in the UK and globally.
SME currently runs twenty consumer and trade exhibitions across the UK, Hong Kong, and Australia and employs more than 40 members of staff.
Its shows in the UK include Fashion Weekend, La Dolce Vita and event industry exhibition RSVP.
"I have recently spent most of my time at SME managing our development in Hong Kong and I am now excited to be contributing to the growth of the business globally," said Ross.
Etchells added: "2010 was an exciting and inspiring year for SME on a global level and I look forward to working closely with Charles in order to grow our exisiting events as well as exploring new projects and markets for 2011 and beyond."
