Charity wins DMA Grand Prix

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity has won the Grand Prix at this year's DMA Awards for its mailing campaign created by Arc Worldwide.

The pack, sent out in a see-through envelope, aimed to raise awareness of, and generate donations for ultrasound scanners, which enable doctors to do internal examinations without carrying out surgical operations.

Judges were impressed with the way the medium was used to reflect the product and message.

Peter Vicary-Smith, chief executive of Which? and chairman of this year's DMA Awards judges, said: "Direct marketing has progressed hugely, creatively linking between the consumer and the producer in ways that I don't think were used 10 years ago."

The DMA Awards were presented at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane on the 6 December. Multiple award winners on the night included OgilvyOne Worldwide, Harrison Troughton Wunderman, Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel, Arc Worldwide and Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, which each picked up three golds.
