
The investment will ensure that each one of CH&Co's 2,000 staff has a minimum of six training sessions annually.
Last year, 25% of CH&Co managers attended at least one of three senior training programmes whilst 5% of the work-force was promoted and employee turnover fell to 23%. Meanwhile, the percentage of women forging a career at CH&Co rose by 15% in 2012 and those opting to return from maternity leave also rose by 10%.
Alison Gilbert, HR director for CH&Co, said: "We expect the best to get even better. To develop our people we need them to truly buy into the culture of our business, while we need to understand their individual needs and motivations. This investment can help make that happen now and in the future."
CH&Co is made up of six catering and hospitality businesses including Charlton House, Lusso, Chester Boyd, It’s the Agency, Ampersand and Via 360.
