In February last year, the company combined the northern and southern European operations of its largest media-buying operation into Carat Europe, resulting in the ousting of former northern Europe CEO Ray Kelly.
Then in June this year, the group created Aegis Media to house its media operations, including Carat, the relaunched Vizeum network, formerly BBJ in the UK, and its outdoor division Posterscope.
Kemoun and Rebbouh took the helm of Aegis Media Europe, with the chief executives of the individual European agencies, including Carat UK CEO Mark Craze, reporting into them.
According to a statement from the company, Kemoun and Rebbouh are leaving to pursue "other professional interests". They depart in the next few weeks, when Aegis expects to announce a successor.
The pair have worked together since 1981 at Paris ad agency Belier. After four years, they left to set up their own agency, 2010 media, in a joint venture with Carat, which took full control in 1991. They later became joint chief executives of Carat France before taking over at Carat Europe.
Doug Flynn, chief executive of Aegis Group, said: "We would like to thank Bruno and Eryck for their valuable contribution to Aegis and our Carat network. In recent years, they have helped move the group into new communication areas and we wish them well for the future."
