Ray Kelly is out in Aegis reorganisation

LONDON - Ray Kelly has been ousted from the media-buying group Aegis as part of a company-wide reorganisation of the group's European operations, which sees his Northern European chief executive's job disappear.

The reorganisation will see Carat merge its Northern and Southern European media operations into a single unit, which is to be headed by Eryck Rebbouh and Bruno Kemoun as joint CEOs. The two are currently CEOs of Southern Europe and members of the Aegis Group board.

Kelly, who is the former UK chief executive, was appointed to the post of chief executive of Northern Europe two years ago. At the same time, Kemoun and Rebbouh, then joint chief executives of Carat France, were promoted to head Southern Europe.

Lord Colin Sharman, chairman of Aegis Group, said: "This reorganisation will simplify the management reporting lines and produce a more cohesive business in Europe. Eryck and Bruno have an outstanding track record and are well equipped to build on Carat Europe's strong market position. We thank Ray for his contribution to the group and wish him well for the future."

The move follows last week's triumph in North America, where Carat won Hyundai's consolidated £280m media-buying business.
