His role will encompass making Central Hall Westminster more commercial and to introduce it to the corporate world.
Southern has recently completed a series of event consultancy roles with UCL, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Stoneleigh Park and London Wasps. Previously he was a director of European Events and before that worked at The Ultimate Event Company.
"I am very excited about this opportunity," said Southern. "Central Hall was built 100 years ago and it has huge experience in a whole range of events from a Kanye West concert to the recent Royal Wedding and yet most of the corporate event organisers in London have not even set foot in here."
Central Hall Westminster is the largest conference centre in central London with 30 meeting rooms, an exhibition area and an auditorium which can hold over 2,000 people.
