CBS Bluetooth deal is first for Scotland

LONDON - CBS Outdoor has launched the first interactive poster campaign in Scotland, signing a deal with Stirling Council to promote ads via Bluetooth to commuters.

Stirling Station is the first Scottish station with the Bluetooth posters, which send out text messages to mobile phones in the vicinity.

The campaign kicked off with The Thistles shopping centre advertising its offers, leisure facilities and retail news.

CBS Outdoor spokesperson Gillian Godsell said this method of communication is a media first for the company in Scotland.

Stirling Council’s portfolio holder for the economy, Councillor Colin O’Brien, said the new medium would enable the local authority to reach consumers directly via their mobiles, keeping them informed about what was happening in the city.

The deal comes as CBS presses ahead with the commercial roll-out of its Cross Track Projection system in London Underground stations later this year.
