CBS cites June for cross track roll-out

CBS Outdoor is to roll out its new Cross Track Projection (XTP) system commercially in at least four London Underground stations by the end of the second quarter.

Tim Bleakley, managing director of sales and marketing at CBS, said that, after initial delays to XTP's launch caused by work being carried out by Transport for London on the Underground's infrastructure, the XTP system is now only months from launch.

He added: "In the first half of 2007, people were disappointed that we didn't come out of the traps as quickly as we thought, but the reason for that was down to the restrictions you can envisage on an engineering project of this scale."

Despite his confidence that 2008 would be a strong year for CBS, Bleakley remained realistic.

"We're being very careful not to over-promise," he said. "We have to manage the expectations of people who have seen the trial at Euston and want to know there the next 30 or 50 sites will be."
