What was the event? The fifth successive Warehouse Project - the UK's largest temporary clubbing and live music event - held in a car park underneath Manchester's Piccadilly Station. The 14-week event showcased some of the world's most-respected acts and DJs, including Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong and Groove Armada, attracting more than 55,800 guests.
How was the brief met? Live events and communications agency Ear to the Ground had the challenge of building and dismantling the set each and every weekend to make way for the car park. Most of the rigging was fixed to the former air raid shelter's roof, keeping the floor clear, while various pieces of furniture and props were kept in a lock up from Monday-Friday. Come Friday evening the space was transformed into an industrial-style nightclub, complete with a chill-out lounge and cinema. The agency worked closely with Green Hippo, i-Pix, DBM Lighting and Audile to create the event's dramatic audio visual experience and Greater Manchester police to ensure the safety of guests. The event culminated with a closing party on New Year's Day.
