Cascaid to handle National Trust for Scotland activity

LONDON - The National Trust for Scotland has appointed direct marketing agency Cascaid to handle a campaign aimed at boosting its subscriber base.

A mailer will go to 65,000 existing backers and potential supporters in an effort to raise funds to restore historic glasshouses across Scotland.

The mail will be peach-scented to associate it with Peach House at Culzean Castle, which is in a desperate state of repair.

A second mailing will focus on St Andrew's Day and the sense of national pride in Scotland.

Cascaid will also revamp the Trust's legacy marketing programme to encourage people to donate money in their will.

There is a plan to target Scottish solicitors to encourage bequests.
