Carr will leave the agency after three years at the helm to pursue other unspecified opportunities and will be replaced by The Search Works' deputy managing director Gavin Ailes.
TradeDoubler is also looking to appoint a new UK managing director, who will work alongside Ailes. The group has merged the UK sales teams for The Search Works and TradeDoubler and promoted Neville James from affiliate manager to sales director of the enlarged group.
While both sales teams will continue to offer separate services, they will also adopt an integrated approach, with Jones overseeing the 17-strong team.
The sales team merger brings to the UK an approach already used by The Search Works and TradeDoubler overseas. The TradeDoubler Group acquired The IMW group, owner of The Search Works, for £56m in July 2007. Following that deal, TradeDoubler and The Search Works began working together as TD Search, operating in 16 mainland European countries.
James replaces Mike Glegg, who has been promoted to international sales director, replacing Matt Adams, who left in June to join Mediaedge:cia to lead the digital operations of its client-facing division, Global Solutions.
In addition, TradeDoubler has appointed Els De Witte as global marketing director, overseeing a team of four regional marketing managers.
In February, Jim Brigden, the former chief executive of The Search Works, took up his first full-time role since leaving the company in June 2008, joining I Spy Search as chief executive.
