Cancer Research in naked ploy for breast awareness

LONDON - Cancer Research UK is hoping a new viral video featuring breast cancer checking techniques being demonstrated on a taut male model will get its message across to women.

The viral was created by Ogilvy Interactive and is being released ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which starts on October 1.

The advice is delivered by a woman but the star of the show is her breast awareness guy Tommy, who happily strips off and lets her demonstrate her tips on his body.

The viral links to a , which officially goes live tomorrow, where the tips are demonstrated with a mouse rollover and the charity calls for donations.

To encourage donors to give a regular sum the site offers a desktop calendar featuring Tommy.

It is the first time the charity has used viral video, having previously focused on banner advertising. The video will be distributed via emails, banners and on video sharing websites.

Sarah Pickersgill, fundraising manager at Cancer Research UK, said: "Every day a staggering 120 women are diagnosed with breast cancer...Through this video we hope to remind as many women as possible of the importance of being breast aware and to encourage them to donate to the charity to help ongoing research into the disease."
