Campbell is leaving Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R as the earnout period from the sale of the agency to Young & Rubicam expires.
He is believed to be joining troubled McCann-Erickson in London as the first big-name hiring since Rupert Howell took over as president of Europe, Middle East and Africa in September, when he replaced Ben Langdon, who departed acrimoniously in July.
The founders of Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe sold the agency in 1999, six years after their successful starting up. The deal with Young & Rubicam gave the four partners half of the 拢25m upfront, with the rest being paid after a four-year earnout period, which ends this month.
The other three partners, joint chief executives Jim Kelly and MT Rainey and co-creative director Mark Roalfe, will remain at the agency. There are no plans to appoint a replacement to Campbell.
Campbell and Roalfe were named in 北京赛车pk10's list of the 10 hottest creative teams at the end of 2002, and worked on campaigns including the award-winning Land Rover work.
