The agency has also poached TBWA\London's account director Helen Kimber to be the new-business director, reporting into MacDonald. She takes up the position in October.
The new line-up fills the gap left by Marcus Brown when he was promoted to senior vice-president of business development for Y&R and Wunderman Europe.
RKCR/Y&R's managing director, James Murphy, said: "Both Chris and Helen have a great track record of working on and winning new business. We are deliberately looking to proven account handlers to drive our new-business effort."
During her time at TBWA, Kimber has worked on some of the agency's flagship accounts, including PlayStation, Absolut and John Smith's.
She said: "I've always wanted to get into new business and when I met everyone at the agency it just seemed to all fall into place."
Kerin Purcell, the existing business development manager, completes the line-up.
The restructure comes just weeks before an announcement is expected from the network on its plans for senior management in the UK, after the partners completed their earnout.
