Victoria Wine is testing a home shopping service, called Cellars
Direct, which is pitched at consumers who have a broad knowledge of
wine. Customers can purchase off the page by phone or post. The service
is expected to roll out nationally next year.
The Direct Marketing Association has appointed Mike Tully to the new
post of director of telecommunications. Tully joins from the
telemarketing bureau, Broadsystem, where he was group managing director
for eight years. He will lead negotiations with industry bodies such as
Oftel and ICSTIS.
City Financial Marketing has developed a through-the-line campaign to
launch a range of financial protection products from Guardian Financial
Services to independent financial advisers. The press campaign consists
of six executions in financial trade magazines, each with a CD-Rom
attached that details the products available.
Adams Childrenswear (ad by Bartle Bogle Hegarty below) has tied up with
Buena Vista to launch a summer promotion for the Walt Disney film, Lady
and the Tramp. Adams account card holders will receive an invitation to
attend one of 12 screenings at cinemas around the UK. An in-store
promotion is also under way.
