Cadman, the JWT London managing director, and Lidstone, the agency's head of planning, have been appointed as Euro RSCG's chief executive and chief strategic officer respectively. Gerry Moira will continue in his position as Euro RSCG's executive creative director.
The move ends weeks of speculation about Cadman's future at JWT. He has been in negotiations about a move to Sir Frank Lowe's start-up agency for several weeks.
Euro RSCG has been seeking a chief executive since the departure of Ben Langdon last September. Chris Pinnington, the chief executive of the UK group, has been caretaking the role.
Euro RSCG Worldwide's global chief executive, David Jones, said: "Mark and Russ are not only huge talents, but they are also great people. From the first time we met, I wanted them to lead our London agency. They care about the same things we do -- great ideas, delivering for our clients and attracting the best talent."
Cadman added: "Our goal is to galvanise the agency with a strong team and strong leadership and get Euro RSCG back to where it belongs in the marketplace."
The pair's defection from JWT further destabilises the senior management at the agency. In November 2005, Simon Bolton stepped down as its chief executive. Toby Hoare is currently heading the agency in the role of executive chairman until a replacement chief executive is announced.
