The partnership is part of Four Innovation for the Public (4iP), the broadcaster's digital media investment project launched last October, which aims to fund the creation of public service content.
Channel 4 has budgeted to invest up to £50m across an initial three-year period, much of it outside the Greater London area.
As part of the Channel 4 and London Technology Fund partnership, the companies will seek to co-invest in digital technology start-ups based in the Greater London area.
The London Technology Fund, backed by the London Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund, will introduce 4iP to existing clients to identify where there are opportunities for investment.
In return, 4iP will support the London Technology Fund Competition 2009 and host a digital technology workshop for its shortlisted candidates.
4iP is part of Channel 4's Next on 4 strategy, which underpins the broadcaster's future strategy on public service broadcasting.
