Buss takes up newly created advertising role at ITV

LONDON - ITV has confirmed the appointment of Nicky Buss to the new position of advertiser development director, reporting directly to ITV's commercial director Ian McCulloch.

Buss is due to leave her current role as client services director at WPP Group's Research International to take up the post with the broadcaster over the next few weeks. She was previously global strategic planning director at the Red Cell Network. Prior to joining WPP, Buss worked at McKinsey, Ammirati Puris Lintas, MTV and Saatchi & Saatchi.

The new role has been created to continue delivering ITV's advertiser development strategy ensuring that ITV's "customer focus is at the heart of all aspects of ITV Commercial".

The role is set to build a greater understanding of the broadcaster's relationship with advertisers by working more closely with them to create long-term partnerships, as well as helping them deliver their marketing objectives.

McCulloch said: "This is a crucial and pivotal role focused on building strong and successful relationships with our advertisers, as well as shaping ITV's offering within the commercial marketplace. With a background that includes agency experience, direct client contact and television experience, Nicky is perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between the creative and commercial sides of our business."

Buss said: "This is an exciting growth area, and a great opportunity to develop new approaches to the medium and to relationships between advertisers and content. ITV is in a unique position to innovate and lead the market, with its strong talent and programme assets, and its production scale and resource."
