Millar, 34, will share the position with Matt Andrews, 35, who is currently the agency's head of strategy. Millar will take overall responsibility for running the company, how-ever, while Andrews' role will be to oversee agency and client strategy.
Vizeum has been without a managing director since Trista Grant went part-time in February 2004. In the interim period, Chris Boothby was appointed operations director to take on the day-to-day management of the UK agency. He now takes on a worldwide job.
Millar, who has ten years' media experience, is set to join Vizeum from BT in October and is being replaced by Steve Huddlestone, BT's head of media buying and broadcast media. Nigel Sharrocks, the chief executive of Aegis Media UK & Ireland, made the appointments.
Sharrocks said he had long identified Millar, who was a ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 Face to Watch in 2002, as a talent.
"With Grant's business-management skills complementing Matt's strengths in strategy, this promises to be a brilliant and successful partnership," he said.
Andrews has worked at Vizeum for the past two years. He joined from Michaelides & Bednash, where he was a partner.
Boothby becomes Vizeum's global investment director. He will be a member of the Vizeum Worldwide board and will be responsible for
negotiations and commercial contracts throughout the 35 countries in which Vizeum is present. Boothby, who was a founder member of BBJ, will retain his responsibility for the Coors Brewers business, an account on which he has worked since 1985.
Elsewhere in the agency, there have been a series of structural changes. Matt Platts, who has seen his workload increase since the departure of his Carat counterpart, Mark Jarvis, has become the managing partner in charge of investment. Stuart Newman takes on a similar role in charge of operations, while Piers Taylor and Neal Deeprose become managing partners with specific client
responsibilities.
Vizeum UK has enjoyed mixed fortunes since it was rebranded in June 2003. It picked up the five, Panasonic and npower accounts shortly after the relaunch, but earlier this year it lost its £30 million BMG account and it is currently facing reviews of its BMW and AOL accounts.
Grant has taken the position of non-executive chairman of Vizeum.
