BT Vision hires Sky marketing head

BT has hired Paul Ridsdale, Sky's head of marketing, to head marketing of sports advertising and sponsorship for its new broadband video-on-demand service, BT Vision.

As senior marketing manager for sports advertising and sponsorship, Ridsdale will lead marketing for BT Vision’s sport portfolio, which includes live coverage of 106 live football matches in the Premiership and Scottish Premier League following a deal with Setanta Sport year.
Along with access to 242 ‘near-live’ on-demand Premiership games, customers will be able to watch three-quarters of all matches within the championship.
BT will launch on the BT Vision Sport service in the summer.
Ridsdale will report to James Soames, BT Vision’s head of customer acquisition.
