TNT Post will distribute 22 of the 170 local editions of the BT Phone Book, which is produced on an annual basis. Newbury in Berkshire will be the first area to receive the directory at the end of May.
The deal follows TNT Post's account win to deliver BT's addressed mail, with final mile delivery by the Royal Mail. The contract is worth £90m and was agreed in January this year, in a blow to the Royal Mail who previously delivered all BT post.
Charles Neilson, managing director of TNT Post, said: "TNT Post is delighted to have extended its relationship with BT so soon after winning the contract in January to deliver their 2nd class mail through downstream access."
Tim Dyke, BT's head of production and distribution for The Phone Book, said: "It is important that we can find a distribution partner that is both reliable and cost effective. TNT Post offers both experience and flexibility in the market and we look forward to working with them."
