BSkyB reappoints ClarityBlue for subscriber drive

LONDON – BSkyB has renewed its contract with ClarityBlue until 2010 in order to support its drive to grow to 10m subscribers by the end of the decade.

ClarityBlue began working for Sky in early 2005. It first provided a prospect database followed by an acquisition campaign and decision management support for direct mail and inbound and outbound telemarketing campaigns.

Sky's direct customer acquisition director William Mellis credits ClarityBlue with making a "tangible difference" to the company's business performance. Sky last month met its target of having 8m subscribers by the end of 2005, with 11 days to spare.

Duncan Painter, chief executive of ClarityBlue, said: "The last 12 months of working with Sky have formed the basis of an excellent working partnership. We're confident that our mix of proven and innovative techniques will see Sky continue to meet its key operational targets."

ClarityBlue was last month acquired by Experian for a total consideration of up to £100m.
