BSkyB extends mobile TV service to Orange and 3

LONDON - BSkyB is rolling out its mobile television service, Sky Mobile TV, to include networks Orange and 3, as well as its launch partner Vodafone.

The link-up means that Orange 3G and 3 customers can now receive as many as 27 Sky Mobile TV channels including live news, sports, music, entertainment and documentaries.

Customers will be able to choose from three themed packs of channels including Sky News and Sports pack, Sky Entertainment Pack and Sky Music Pack.

Sky Mobile TV, which launched last November, was initially available to Vodafone 3G customers. It includes a mix of dedicated "made for mobile" channels and others that are streamed as live.

Stephen Nuttall, BSkyB's director of business development, said: "Sky Mobile TV has got off to a great start and there is no doubt that customers are showing an appetite for entertainment on the move."

Deborah Tonroe, head of TV and video for Orange, said: "The addition of Sky to our ever-increasing portfolio will no doubt increase viewing figures further."

Graeme Oxby, managing director of 3UK, said: "We see the addition of Sky as a natural step and a great fit to enhance our already successful TV portfolio."
