All Vodafone Live! with 3G customers will be able to watch up to 19 channels, including 24-hour news, sport, entertainment and documentaries from channels including Sky News, Sky One, Sky Sports, Discovery and Living TV.
The service, which launches tomorrow, will be free to all Vodafone 3G customers until January 31 next year and from thereafter will cost £5 a month to whichever Sky Mobile TV package they subscribe to.
Two packs will be on offer. The first, News, Sport & Factual, includes: Sky News; CNN; Bloomberg; Sky Sports News; At The Races; Discovery Factual; National Geographic Channel and the History Channel.
The second package, Entertainment & Music, comprises: Sky One; Sky Movies; MTV; Living TV; Discovery Lifestyle; Nickelodeon; Paramount Comedy; Cartoon Network; Bravo and the Biography Channel.
Tim Yates, chief marketing officer at Vodafone UK, said: "This is a highly significant day for both the mobile and television industries.
"Two industry leaders in Sky and Vodafone have come together to provide the country's first commercially available mobile TV service available on such a wide range of handsets."
Richard Freudenstein, Sky's chief operating officer, said: "This is an innovative service that complements our existing pay-TV activities, extends the reach of Sky content and delivers an additional stream of revenue."
Vodafone currently has 250,000 3G subscribers in the country and 72% 3G population coverage across the UK.
