The new appointments are necessary following the agency winning new broadcasting clients in both cities.
Jill Munt is leaving London-based Smithereen to join BDA Sydney as business director. Munt started her television career in Sydney in 1995, and has previously worked in the London BDA office for six years as production manager.
She said: "The Australian market is vastly different to that of the UK, so it offers some great challenges and new business opportunities for me, and BDA, at this time".
Tanja Adamietz is leaving rival agency Red Bee Media, after two years as a senior designer, to join the creative team at BDA Munich.
Originally from Donauw枚rth in Germany, Adamietz moved to the UK in 2000 to work with MTV Networks. In her new role as art director, she will be responsible for all creative output, including the branding work on the recently acquired Bayerisches Fernsehen, Discovery Geschichte and NBC Universal accounts.
Since its launch seven years ago, BDA has grown from three staff to 100 globally, with offices in London, Sydney, Munich and Singapore.
Honor Bartlett, BDA Group managing director, said: "BDA Group is growing on a massive scale and we need people as talented as Jill and Tanja to help us manage that growth.
"There has already been some movement between the offices of our talented creative and production staff but this signals a new era where we can offer our senior staff the opportunities to explore foreign markets and show us what they can achieve."
