British Waterways calls pitch

British Waterways, the organisation responsible for maintaining the UK's rivers and canals, is looking for an integrated agency to develop its first national marketing programme.

British Waterways calls pitch

The public corporation wants to encourage people to make more use of canals and rivers as part of everyday life.

It has contacted several agencies in relation to the pitch, which is for brand development, integrated marketing and PR. The work is expected to include direct marketing and will consist of a national campaign as well as more targeted local work over the next two years.

This is the first long-term national marketing work that the corporation, which is affiliated to the Department for Food and Rural Affairs, has run. Previously, it conducted marketing in-house and used agencies on a project basis.
