Hive, the British Gas service that allows users to control their heating through online tools, has released a content brief to agencies.

British Gas’ Connected Homes unit, which handles marketing for Hive, has contacted agencies with the brief and asked for creative ideas to be submitted by Wednesday (3 December).

The appointed shop will produce a piece of content that will run in the first three months of next year.

Kassir Hussain, the director at Connected Homes, is running the pitch and confirmed the process.

CHI & Partners and OgilvyOne oversee British Gas’ creative advertising and direct advertising accounts respectively. Their relationships with British Gas are unaffected by the pitch.

Hive launched in January with a campaign created by CHI & Partners called "taking care of business". The spot featured a folk song describing the surreal and fantastical things people could do with their free time if they used Hive.

CHI & Partners has worked with British Gas since 2003, when it won the £30 million business from the incumbent, BMP DDB.
