The deal was brokered by Carat and sees British Gas sponsorship credits created by Clemmow Hornby Inge running at the beginning and end of the show.
The sponsorship kicks off on Sunday October 30 for eight weeks with nine episodes including the first Christmas special.
Luciana Limongelli, sponsorship and branded content assistant at ITV Sales, said: "This is the perfect fit between an established British brand and an original and well-loved programme."
'Creature Comforts' features plasticine animals speaking candidly about British life. Regular favourites including Captain Cuddlepuss and Trivia will be joined by a new batch of animated characters in the forthcoming series.
Jane Bednall, senior brand manager for British Gas, said: "'Creature Comforts' has a great heritage which remains as relevant to modern audiences as it did years ago. It's perfect blend of warmth, familiarity and reassurance resonates with British Gas values."
Meanwhile in UK cinemas, Aardman Animations feature-length production 'Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit' held on to the top spot last weekend.
Nick Park's creations fended off five new entries, including Tim Burton's animated feature 'Corpse Bride', starring the voices of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter, who also stars in the 'Wallace and Gromit' feature.
In a recent fire at Aardman's warehouse in Bristol, all the models and sets used in 'Creature Comforts', including those used in the news series, were destroyed, although the original Wallace and Gromit survived.
