British Eventing launches new website

LONDON - British Eventing has revamped its website with a new look and extra features for members, media and eventing fans.

has been given a new search facility located to look up results for individual horses and riders as well as news.

The fixture list now has easy to view colour-coded icons which show at a glance whether an event is open for entries.

It also has two new columns showing when entries open and the ballot date and the status of each event.

Forums have been added allowing members to debate issues connecting with the sport as well as get help.

New to the homepage is a safety icon which links visitors directly to all the latest information on eventing safety.

Users will be able to find details on where to see the innovative BE Safety Research cross country fence and sign up to attend their nearest Safety Roadshow.

To keep visitors up-to-date with breaking news the site now has RSS news feeds delivering news direct to the desktop.

A new map view has also been added so riders looking to find out exactly where an event is in the country, which is located in the event calendar section.

British Eventing has also revamped its online store, which stocks clothes, books and accessories as well as the latest Team GBR kit to support the teams this year.

Day tickets and season tickets for horses are also on offer.

Mike Barnes, the commercial and marketing director at British Eventing said the revamp of the website was part of making the organisation more customer focused.

"The BE website is absolutely fundamental to the business and has more traffic than any other UK equestrian body.

"As part of a new development programme to refresh the business and become more customer focussed, we are pleased to launch the site to provide a better service and platform for what we are doing. 

"It has already undergone several weeks of testing behind the scenes with staff, regular user groups and our Sounding Board group. Feedback is great and we hope you like it."

British Eventing, formally known as the British Horse Trials Association, is the UK's governing body for the sport of eventing, which comprises dressage, showjumping and cross country.
