British Airways uses 600,000 coins to draw Statue of Liberty

British Airways has created a giant piece of coin art in one of its hangers to celebrate the launch of its discount season, the 'Big British Airways Take Off'.

The airline used 600,000 coins to sketch out the Statue of Liberty, as a nod to its flagship destination, New York.

The coins were delivered from a London bank vault to the hanger, where a team of seven took six hours to construct the image. It measures 10 metres by eight metres.
