In today's news, hackers may have accessed data from 2.4 million Carphone Warehouse customers, Emirates signs Jennifer Aniston as brand ambassador and Twitter's recently departed CEO is to step down from the board.

Carphone Warehouse hacked in cyber-attack

The encrypted credit card details of up to 90,000 people may have been accessed, Carphone Warehouse confirmed over the weekend.  

The firm said it had been subject to a "sophisticated" cyber attack and that data accessed could include names, addresses, dates of birth and bank details of up to 2.4 million customers. The Information Commissioner's Office is investigating the attack.

Ex Twitter CEO stepping down from board amid 'reshuffle'

According to reports, Dick Costolo, who stepped down as CEO in June could be set leave the board of directors amid a shake-up that will be implemented when a new chief is announced.

The board is set to expand or be shuffled to include directors from different backgrounds, such as minorities and those with experience in adjacent industries, including advertising and e-commerce, Bloomberg said.

Emirates signs Jennifer Aniston as brand ambassador

The airline has signed the American actress to appear in a series of TV, digital and print ads. The campaign, which has already been shot, is reported to be worth $5m for the star.

Emirates has been ramping up its sponsorship overseas with deals including a three year FA cup deal and sponsorship of the Rugby World Cup. The move follows rival Etihad's signing of Nicole Kidman in March.
