The event will be hosted at the Royal Air Force (RAF) College Cranwell in Lincolnshire on 27 July, honouring the memory of the bomber command unit that fought in the Second World War.

All proceeds from the event will go to the RAF Benevolent Fund, which has recently become guardian of the bomber command memorial in Green Park, London.

The concert will take place in the evening, where Jonathan and Charlotte will be joined on stage by the band of the RAF College, as well as soprano and squadron leader Ruth Shackleton, and the Cranwell Military Wives Choir.

Members of the public are invited to bring a picnic on to the grounds of the college, while enjoying pre-concert entertainment including the Red Arrows which will put on one of their world-famous displays.

David Stubbs, air commodore at RAF Cranwell, said: "We are looking forward to opening the gates of RAF College Cranwell again, following such a successful event in 2011. I am extremely grateful to Jonathan and Charlotte for taking time out from their very busy tour to appear in aid of the RAF Benevolent Fund.

"This is a great opportunity to invite family and friends to what will be a spectacular event at a unique venue."

Vintage aircraft including Spitfires and a Lancaster bomber will be on display, while the audience will be taken back in time with archive footage from 70 years ago.
