The move to Brilliant Media follows the collapse of Manchester-based integrated agency Charterhouse Advertising & Marketing.
In the 12 months to the end of December 2009 Deichmann Shoes spent 785,000, according to Nielsen, the bulk of which (£705,000) was spent on TV.
Deichmann Shoes is a privately owned business and claims to be one of the largest footwear retailers in Europe with more than 2800 outlets in 19 countries.
In the UK Deichmann Shoes currently has 37 shops. Andy Underwood, UK operations director at Deichmann Shoes said: "We are keen to grow our brand in the UK and have an extensive store opening programme in hand. With Brilliant as our partner we are certain we will succeed."
The Deichmann Shoes business will be managed out of Brilliant Media's Birmingham office. The Birmingham office was launched by Birmingham managing director Paul Bramwell two years ago and claims to have billings of £10m.
Bramwell said "This appointment is further evidence of the market demand for an independent agency that combines both significant scale with client service, as well as a potent endorsement of our retail track record."
Brilliant Media has offices in Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham and its clients include ASDA, DFS, Dreams, Morphy Richards, DVLA, Subaru, Isuzu, TJ Hughes, Bose, Netflights, Pontins.
