The Brewery switches off for Earth Hour

On Saturday 28 March the Brewery will join an estimated 1 billion businesses, homes and landmarks in switching off all its lights and other electrical devices for one hour.

The big switch-off is part of Earth Hour – a worldwide campaign to combat the impact of climate change – and will even see the iconic Coca-Cola sign in Piccadilly Circus switched off for an hour.

A total of 1,508 cities and towns in 80 countries have already committed to the crusade, which will take place at 8.30pm on the evening of 28 March.

"We are always looking for novel and innovative ways to strengthen our CSR policy," said the Brewery general manager Maria Duddin. "Earth Hour is an incredible movement because we can join a global campaign to show our commitment to alleviating the impact of climate change by reducing our energy usage."

The results of the campaign will be presented to world leaders at next year's Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.
