Brands including Burton, Mysinglefriend.com, LoveFilm, Finlandia Vodka and Wilkinson Sword are partnering the initiative, which aims to raise more than last year's total of £2.4m.

The campaign will also involve fundraising activity including a 10k run on 14 November.

The Movember initiative originates from Australia and The Prostate Cancer Charity has been its official partner in the UK for three years.

The Prostate Cancer Charity was set up in 1996 to increase investment in prostate cancer research and raise public and political awareness of the disease. Every year nearly 35,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer, the most common cancer diagnosed in men.
