Branding: Yop overhaul targets mums

Yoplait is revamping its yoghurt drink Yop for the second time in 18 months to increase the product's appeal to teens and mums.

The fresh packaging, created by Springetts, carries a new typeface and a pink, red and purple swirl design. It will be rolled out this month to coincide with the back-to-school period.

Yop is available in straw-berry and raspberry variants, and is sold in 750g family bottles and 330g convenience formats. Last year Yoplait added a 180g four-pack format, Yop Minis, to the range, to tap into the lunchbox market.

Sales of the brand grew by 5% to £11m last year, according to Mintel.
