Branding News: Christian Aid in identity revamp

Christian Aid is to unveil a new logo based on the red envelope used to collect money during Christian Aid Week.

Designed by creative agency Johnson Banks, which created Shelter's identity and the UK's EU presidency logo, the logo is intended to simplify Christian Aid's look and make application across different media, including the internet, TV and print, easier.

The charity hopes the revamped logo will build awareness of its work among a wider, younger audience of all faiths.

An aid and relief agency, Christian Aid works to fight poverty and injustice globally. It celebrated its 60th anniversary last year, having been started by churches in response to the refugee crisis in post-war Europe.

Christian Aid Week is the biggest fundraising week in the UK, and last year raised £14.8m.
