Describe yourself in three words.Rumbi Pfende

Confident, competent, assured.

How would you define marketing?

It's what I do for a living, gets me out of bed in the morning and keeps me in the office until 7.30 most nights.

What would you be if you weren't a brand manager?

A teacher.

What attracted you to your current job?

At the time, casual gaming was unfamiliar to UK clients, whereas it's been a huge part of family life in Europe for years. The scope for growth and opportunity was undeniable.

What was your first job?

I started in telesales. Some people don't give it the respect it deserves, but the training was invaluable. If you can survive telesales, you can survive anything.

What's your greatest ambition?

Short-term: to continue to drive the concept of gaming as a credible part of the marketing mix. Long-term: to set up a mobile marketing consultancy, in Africa.

What is your all-time favourite slogan?

'Good things come to those who wait' – Guinness.

Do you have a marketing mentor?

Sheema Gulab. She's extremely talented and not afraid to take a few risks.

What marketing trend is dominating your job at the moment?

The shift toward mobile and tablet gaming. Every day there are new opportunities being created for brands.

What hobbies do you have?

Cooking and travelling.

What makes you angry?

People with superiority complexes.

What is your favourite pub?

I have a favourite hidden bar – the JubJub bar at Callooh Callay in Shoreditch. Amazing drinks, intimate and quirky surroundings.

What's your favourite holiday destination?

New York.

If you had three wishes, what would they be?

To see my parents more often (they live abroad); to own a fabulous house; and to be sponsored by Selfridges – can you imagine? An endless supply of fabulous clothes, make-up, food and Champagne.
