Brahm nets Connexions Direct contract following pitch

LONDON - The Department for Education and Skills has awards Brahm the contract to relaunch its Connexions Direct national website, which provides support services to young people, after a five-way undisclosed pitch.

was developed as part of the Connexions Service to provide confidential information, advice and guidance to teenagers on issues like learning, careers, family, health, relationships, finance, housing and drugs.

It is a phone and web-based service manned by specially trained advisers seven days a week from 8am to 2am.

Brahm's initial task will be to research respondents in the 13-19 target age-group to identify what sort of information they want, and in what format. The findings of the research will determine the tone and future direction of the site, which is to go live this autumn.

Thea Mallett, head of digital at Brahm, said : "A recent study for the DfES revealed that the Connexions Direct website is a valuable service for teenagers and we are very excited to have won the contract to evolve it, while continuing to provide high-quality information and advice."

Leeds-based Brahm already works with a number of public sector clients, including DfES, Job Centre Plus and Worktrain.
