Boots signs BBC Broadcast for Christmas iTV ad campaign

LONDON - Boots has appointed BBC Broadcast to create a series of interactive ads for its Christmas campaign.

The hiring follows a pitch process handled by Boots' media planning and buying agency, MediaCom.

BBC Broadcast will work closely with Mother, Boots' advertising agency, on the task. Mother will create the main campaign, while BBC Broadcast will produce the interactive element that will run behind the main ads.

Jonathan Wilson, the senior account director at BBC Broadcast, said the advertising would use entertainment content to combine brand building with product sales.

"We will be working with Mother right from the start of the creative and planning process, enabling us to develop a fully integrated campaign," he said.

Mother created Boots' most recent Christmas campaign, which featured the comedian Harry Hill.

BBC Broadcast has been working with ITV Sales on a programme of advertising and media agency visits.

These have been designed to show how interactive television can make commercials more effective.
