Boots to roll out expert care posters by Mother

LONDON - Mother London is preparing to roll out an illustrated print campaign for Boots featuring the inner monologues of people suffering with embarrassing problems.

One poster in the series of four highlights the issue of sweating: "I'm sitting on a bus. Stationary. Exerting zero energy. Yet I'm sweating like a fugitive. I've got nothing to hide. Apart from the huge sweat marks under my arms which are slowly making their way down my sides.

"Oh great, I can feel that wonderful clingy sensation on my back now too. I could be the winner of the very first public transport wet T-shirt contest. I hope I don't have to raise my arms in victory."

The other posters in the expert range promotion address the issue of teeth whitening, unwanted body hair and sore nipples.

Mother has been working on these executions for six months and enlisted the help of illustrator Chris Stonehill at Phospor Art to create the look of the print ads.

Damien Eley, a creative working on the account, said: "The expert range was developed to help personal health problems that have a massive impact on the lives of individuals on a day-to-day basis. We thought the interior monologue was a great way of personalising these clinical products that can have a fantastic effect in lifting confidence. We used the illustration as a bridge to reach our desired audience, but in a light-hearted way."

The ads will appear in print, accompanied by a radio campaign with actors playing out the interior monologues that appear in the print ads. The Galaxy, Century and Kiss networks will be hosting the radio ad while magazines such as Good Housekeeping, Glamour and Cosmopolitan will be running the print ad.

The campaign comes hot on the heels of the latest TV ads created by Mother London in which a rogue price gun tickets red labels on unsuspecting members of the public to advertise Boots' price cuts.
