It is understood 59% of voters approved the proposal to elect Bollore, Havas’ largest shareholder, and his three representatives at the group’s annual general meeting held in Paris today.
Prior to today’s AGM, Havas chief executive officer, Alain de Pouzilhac had urged shareholders to block Bollore’s plans, arguing that he would destabilise the company at a time when it is emerging from a period of radical restructuring.
De Pouzilhac’s often bitter campaign against Bollore, who has been snapping at the heels of the company since last year, could throw into question the Havas boss’s own future as the top of the network, which owns the Media Planning Group agency.
