BMG hands DJ Sasha work to de-construct

Record publishing giant BMG has appointed digital creative agency de-construct to develop a web site for DJ Sasha (www.djsasha.com).

The site will be launched to coincide with the release of Sasha's new album, Air Drawn Dagger, on 5 August.

Plans for the site include a members' area with content only accessible via a unique code distributed in the album inlay. Members will also have exclusive access to webcasts of Sasha sets and web chats.

There are plans to make some of the DJ's music available online for users to remix, which may be turned into a talent search, with the best submissions being released.

"By embracing digital culture and taking on inevitable piracy online through unique content in the members' section, Sasha hopes users will see the additional value of buying the album, said Dan Douglas, business development director at de-construct.

The DJ's existing site (www.sasha.co.uk) has been converted to a holding page, where users can register to receive album release updates, including a track list before it is released elsewhere.

Guy Ornadel, DJ Sasha's manager, said: "We weren't entirely happy with our existing site and always planned to incorporate a new web offering for the release of the album. The site will include exclusive mixes, message boards, album previews and online chat for users who have bought the album."
