The firm, chaired by former Nokia president Pekka Ala-Pieila, plans to expand beyond the UK into Germany, Spain and Belgium later this year. A launch is already planned for the Netherlands later this year.
Germany and Spain are among continental Europe's biggest ad markets, while Belgium's ad spend per head is among the region's highest, claimed Ala-Pietila, according to reports.
In April, Blyk announced that had hit a self-imposed target of attracting 100,000 UK users, six months ahead of schedule. Blyk was launched in the UK just seven months previously.
In the UK, Blyk offers 21 texts and 43 minutes of calls per month for free, in return for users accepting up to six texts a day from advertisers such as Adidas, L'Oréal and Manchester United FC. The company claims that its targeted advertising has achieved an average response rate of 29%.
In addition to Blyk's European expansion plans, the company plans to boost the number of brands using Blyk in the UK to 200 by the end of 2008.
The move into Europe is the beginning of a wider expansion of the service, according to reports.
