Blur launch web radio station

Blur are to launch their own internet radio station on October 12, ahead of the release of the band’s new album, Blur: the Best of, on October 30.

LONDON (Brand Republic) – Blur are to launch their own internet radio station on October 12, ahead of the release of the band’s new album, Blur: the Best of, on October 30.

The station, located at Blur-radio.com, will feature audio and video recordings of the band.

In another online venture, pop outfit Vengaboys, who like Blur are signed to an EMI-owned label, are releasing their new single, Cheeka Bow Bow, as a mobile phone ring tone before it is available in the shops.

According to EMI, it has released the tune to Ringtones.com to test the future promotional potential of the service.
