Tringham will start at Bluehat's London office next week, after completing her event management course at Winchester University.
She got down to the final 12 candidates who took part in an intense three-day competition at International Confex from 19-21 March. They completed a series of challenges including speed interviews, walking over the roof of the O2, GPS trails, speed interviews and ticket selling.
Despite not landing jobs with George P Johnson or AV company Blitz, Tringham clearly impressed the team at Bluehat, who worked with the finalists to create short animation films during the competition.
Ben Parkinson, commercial director of Bluehat, told Event: "We had a lot of interaction with the candidates during Confex, and had a good feeling about Laura’s potential. She scored very highly on all the tasks and stood out for us. Laura has her business head screwed on, and we're certain she will fulfil her role here whilst learning about the industry."
Run by ESP Recruitment and Event magazine, in association with Bluehat and UBM, the Apprentice-style competition aims to bring the next generation of talent into the event industry.
