Black Lives Matter showcases the horrors of racial injustice in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

With reference to one black mother’s fears for her son, the work highlights the issue of police brutality towards black people. While a bodycam follows a black person as they are shot to the ground, another harrowing clip shows a police car ramming into a crowd of peaceful protestors.

"We got pulled over for a busted tail light in the back, and the police killed my boyfriend," a terrified driver records as her partner bleeds out in the passenger seat.

The work ends with footage of George Floyd as he calls out for his mother while a police officer presses down on his neck. The film was directed by Meena Ayittey.
