'Big Brother' attracted 3.5m viewers for Channel 4 and a 15.2% share of the 9pm-10pm audience. Including the time-shifted audience on Channel 4+1, which aired the programme at 10pm after the football, the audience jumped to 4.3m and an 18.4% share.
The removal of Alex from the house, for intimidating behaviour towards other housemates, pulled in over a million extra viewers for Channel 4 thanks to its +1 ratings, which were the highest since the series launched.

ITV had a strong night with its coverage of the first Euro 2008 quarter-final, in which Germany beat Portugal 3-2, pulling in 6.6m viewers and a 29.8% share of the audience between 7.30pm-10pm.
BBC One drew 3.7m viewers and a 15.4% share of the 9pm-10pm audience for the first part of its 'Britain's Lost World' three-part series, which saw Kate Humble, Dan Snow and Steve Backshall exploring the landscape of St Kilda, the wildest, most remote spot in the British Isles.
BBC Two's 'Heroes' attracted 1.9m viewers and an 8% share of the 9pm audience, beating Five's 'House' which netted 1.6m viewers and a 6.7% share.
